"B" Endorsed Licence....

How to obtain your pistol licence.

(Please refer to the New Zealand Police web site for more information on the requirements for obtaining you 'B' endorsed firearms license).

The general process with all things going right is as follows:

Obtain 'a' endorsed firearms license if you do not have one already
Do club imposed minimum shoots (RPC requires 12 shoots)
Do pistol safety exam (see RPC secretary)
Obtain application for 'b' endorsement
Pay the application fee to NZ police ($200) at NZ post shop
Obtain relevant security for holding pistols
Complete police interview and security inspection
The Police will get club approval (based on club assessment of suitability, exam and minimum shoots being completed)
Police will get association approval (based on minimum 6 month membership)
Police will issue 'b' endorsed license
Expect the process to take 7 months from joining NZPA
